The below chart reflects the categories of type of fires e.g Fire class Type A happen in ordinary solid combustible material such as paper, wood, etc

NFPA's main mission is to lessen the global impact of fire and other dangers on people's quality of life by developing and promoting scientifically-based consensus codes and standards.

What are the meanings of the numbers and symbols on an NFPA fire diamond? There are four portions to the diamond. The three colored areas have numbers ranging from 0 (least severe hazard) to 4 (most severe hazard) (most severe hazard). The fourth (white) section is empty and is only used to indicate unique firefighting measures or hazards.
